To Rise from the Ashes

An invitation awaits

to a quiet, intimate meeting

The summons to see Prince Oargev came in the form of a rolled parchment, in the hand of a member of the Metrol Watch. Constable Gibbs found Amarack at the docks, assisting in the unloading of a barge. Deaton Fameleux was tracked down a little later by the same officer, who found the former house guard strolling the streets of Bergen.

Your are hereby summoned to the presence of His Royal Eminence, Prince Oargev of Cyre, at His residence promptly at the evening bell, this day.

Amarack nods to Gibbs and reads the missive. He muses briefly about the start of their journey of hope. He carefully places the paper in his vest and finishes his work.
Nills, the stock clerk at the general goods store, offered the priest a some wine in exchange for his help. After a wistful look at the proffered bottle, Amarack shook his head and smiled. Lately, it didn’t have the pull it used to.
“Suit yourself, Shield. I’d happily pay you in coin, but you always refuse.”
Smiling, the priest picked up his chain shirt and reverently touched the symbol of the Host in the center.
“Things are beginning to look up around here, Nills. Have you noticed?”
“I’ve noticed my workload increased with fewer employees!” the balding man joked, then winced when he realized the implication of his jest.
“Feels different lately, my friend, feels…better. I must take my leave. Look for the changes and help others to notice too. The Host keep you well.” Amarack left the man in thought and pointed his feet toward the temple to clean up quickly.

Deaton was busy stalking a man who had been rumored to be loan sharking people in misty bottom, and claiming ridiculous fees on repayment, when he was approached. Annoyed at being interrupted and potentially being pointed out to his mark he barks “what?!” to the watchman. After briefly reading the summons he looks at him “great!” He says exacerbated while watching his mark disappear around a distant corner, knowing he’d be unable to catch up without looking conspicuous. He then looks at the watchman again “what, you’re expecting a tip?” and walks away obviously perturbed.

Meta
So are you two going to head up there at the appointed time? Will you make contact with one another beforehand? You both knew that this was coming, so it’s not a surprise. Do you try and drag Luc along, as well?

Well, I could possibly sneak in, put the guards to sleep and join you. But do you guys have something with a little less panache?

An invitation awaits

Yeah, you could just come in as whoever and we can mumble some crap about you being an associate, or someone I’m being paid to watch today or whatever and then stand to the side and quietly gather your intel. If you wanted to take part in the convo, you could just come as that chick since they were probably looking to summon you anyway. I don’t think the prince is going to push hard on people who may have influence within his city while it’s in a precarious state. He likely won’t insist too hard if we refuse to give him extra information.

I second that. Do come along if you want. But if you don’t, you wont be able to contribute. Up to you…

An invitation awaits
